Updated Draft of the Equal Opportunities Bill
The amended draft of Equal Opportunities Bill, attached to here and is also available on the National Aids Commission’s website, is the most recent version of the a proposed legislation that seeks to clearly delineate in Belize’s laws anti-discrimination protections for individuals who fall within any of the twenty-one listed protected characteristics (PCs). The PCs including age, breastfeeding, race, political opinion, sexual orientation, and family responsibilities, to name a few.
Consistent with the purpose and function of Policy Tracker, the EOB is provided via this medium so as to make it as easily accessible as possible to the business community for review, despite the recent announcement that the Bill would not be tabled in the Wednesday, September 16th, House of Representatives’ meeting.
